PBwiki is really easy to use.
I actually used PBwiki this semester to write a group paper collaboratively, that way we weren't emailing each other back and forth and didn't have 40 different versions of the same paper floating around.
Useful!
Another use for wikis I've seen is party planning, where users log in and type out what they're going to bring, or delete what they're going to bring (so that what's needed is left).

#14 So what's in a wiki?
Browsing through the library wikis, I found two wikis particularly interesting:
1.Library Success (Best Practices)
http://libsuccess.org/index.php?title=Main_Page
This wiki lets library workers from all over contribute their ideas on best practices at libraries in an easily editable and open format.
2.Book Lovers Wiki
http://booklovers.pbwiki.com/Princeton%20Public%20Library
Users are able to read and write, or add to reviews of books in a community setting as an online bookclub.

#13 On Library 2.0
I don't consider "Library 2.0" to be a negative thing in concept. However, it all depends on how a library executes its 2.0.
I think a trend of libraries today is to follow "Technolust" and implement technology because it's "cool" rather than implement it based on its increase of utility to library workers or users.
If it's implemented with the users in mind, then I'm a fan :)

#12 Social Networking
I'm already a member of Facebook and LinkedIn - which are very different websites in terms of context (personal vs. professional) Therefore, my LinkedIn profile is much more conservative than my Facebook profile :)
Here's my LinkedIn public profile, if anyone's interested: http://www.linkedin.com/in/hollys

#11 Getting not-so-technical with Technorati
Technorati is an interesting concept, but it made me contemplate something I often contemplate in regards to domain names...
"Claiming" things and whether or not that has any actual legal standing or not.
Anyway.
Apparently if you get a domain name with Amazon in it, even if it's like... "iwanttogototheamazonindecember.com" that Amazon.com's legal team will phone you and make you surrender it.
Just a side-note.
I was also trying to figure out why Jennifer Garner is the #4 top search on Technorati.

#10 Del.icio.us
Many of my friends already use Del.icio.us on a daily basis to find interesting websites. It's kind of similar to Digg or StumbleUpon. I find these kinds of websites are fun to visit when you're bored.
I think the social aspect of the website is quite neat. I can see how if a circle of friends religiously used this service, they would be able to share links with each other in a fairly efficient manner.

#9 A thing about LibraryThing
Here's what I was able to add using LibraryThing:
I think this is a neat idea, but I think my generation's more into social bookmarking. Besides, I only read kids books. :P

#7 Finding Feeds
Using the Google Blog Search was quite intuitive, in my opinion.
By simply searching "library" it found a number of various library related sites, of which I found two interesting:
![]()
I also noticed our intranet has an RSS feed... ;)

Internet Public Library: - http://www.ipl.org/
Toronto Public Library: Home Page - http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/
From these websites I was able to subscribe to RSS feeds of the news on these pages.

#6 RSS Readers - Google Reader
Okay so I set up my Google Reader account, and added 5 subscriptions ... all Apple related ...
http://www.google.com/reader/shared/11913356355869141096
That's my public page,
but for some reason both internet explorer and firefox aren't letting me add tags to my feeds, so therefore I can't tag them as public... which is why you won't see anything special on my public page. But I tried.
